Mirror Image of Them
I like countless others feel that parents shouldn't harm their children either physically or emotionally by any means. Many parents do it to "discipline" them or to "punish" them for their mistakes. But, that is no way to treat a child even if they do something wrong. Parental behavior like this can alter a child in so many different ways without the parents even knowing. It can harm the kids psychologically, make them more aggressive and will grow hatred towards the person harming them. Included are also the medical problems.
Undoubtedly kids can be psychologically effected. Kids might start to view things from a different perspective and are not the same as before. Their behavior and attitude can rapidly change for bad than for good. Kids may not be as socially active in school or with their friends. They might even become depressed and those are signs of them being emotional and mentally harmed. Their self-esteem may also be at an all time low during these "punishments". Some examples of how a child can be harmed is when they are isolated, terrorized or neglected. In numerous homes children are rejected and not paid any attention when they need it. Their necessities are not tended to and parents just put them aside instead of dealing with the child’s problems. Besides that kids are also terrorized by their parents and are to scared to speak up or do something about the situation. In some cases parents threat to harm them even further if they speak of what really happens to them. This causes the poor children to feel neglected and are deprived of their parents love and care.
Another reason why parents shouldn't hurt their children is it will make the child more aggressive. It can lead the child to be more aggressive towards everyone around them. Like their classmates and teachers or elders. Soon they won't have respect for anyone around them. They might start to get into more turmoil at school for trying to hurt or act in a violent manner towards other children. Following this further, when they throw a tantrum they most likely will act in a higher level of aggressive by trying to hit the parents or throw anything and everything that comes into sight. If parents are aggressive the child is going to mimic every move or speech they make because parents are supposed to be role models and set the good examples for them to follow. Kids are always wanting to do what their ,"mommy or daddy" does and they want to be just like them. Kids minds are so naïve that they are sometimes not capable of distinguishing right from wrong. So if they see parents doing actions like these they will think it‘s okay for them to do it also. Unfortunately, if parents don't behave how they should, neither will the children.
Also, if parents harm children the child will start to grow an immense hatred towards the parent. They will feel hate for the person that is doing this to them. Many store the hate up and slowly reveal it and other it’s just seeping through them. Slowly they will begin to demonstrate the gradual, growing hate within them. Resentment will also begin to build up and a difference in the child will be noticeable quickly. The child will try to distance themselves from the parent that hits them the most or will openly let out their feelings and others just store it all up and try to not put it to use. Some kids rebel, like talking back and be just plain rude to show they don’t care about them.
Along with all of these bad consequences and parental neglect come medical problems. Soon bruises and scars will appear all over the child or a sudden change in personality and attitude which indicates that the parent is now not just, "punishing or disciplining" their child but full out hurting their child. This indicates that the parent or guardian has just gotten out of hand and went way too far. Each year many abused children have to go to the hospital because of injuries inflicted on them during punishment. Or have to receive counseling for their traumatizing experiences. Sadly a multitude of the children don't make it out because many of their extreme injuries are fatal. As a result other children have to live with the life -long difficulties, like being insecure or safe or having to deal with their aggressiveness, for the rest of their lives.
All in all, the people many innocent kids used to look up to as a role model will look nothing but abusive people to them. Harming kids will bring life long consequences and life changing situations into the family. The effects of such as the medical, psychological, aggressive and hatred problems can follow them the rest of their life and will play a paramount role in the course of life they chose to take, which is either their parents’ way or their own. Final Writting Project: Rough Draft

I feel that parents shouldn't hit their children by any means. Many parents do it to "discipline" them or to "punish" them for their mistakes. But, that is no way to treat a child even if they do something wrong. Parental behavior like this, can alter a child in so many different ways without the parents even knowing. It can harm the kids psycologically, make them more aggressive and will grow hatred towards the person harming them. Included are also the medical problems.
To start off kids can be psychologically effected. kids might start to view things from a different perspective and are not the same as before. Their behavior and attitude can rapidly change for bad than for good. Kids may not be as socially active in school or with their friends. They might even become depressed and those are signs of them being emotional and mentally harmed. Ther self-esteem may also be at an all time low during these "punishments". Some examples of how a child can be harmed is when they are isolated, terrorized or neglected.
Another reason why parents shouldn't hit their children is it will make the child more aggressive. It can led the child to be more aggressive towards their classmates and elders. Soon they won't have respect for anyone around them. They might start to get into more trouble at school for trying to hurt other children. When they throw a tramtum they will act in a more aggresive way by trying to hit the parents or throwing all of the stuff that comes into sight. If the parents are being agressive the child is going to mimic everything the parents do beacause parents are supposed to be role models to kids. Kids ar always wanting to do what their "mommy or daddy" does and they want to be just like them. Unfortunatly if parents don't behave how they should, neither will the children.
Also, If parents hit children the child will start to grow this hatred towards the parent. They will feel hate for what is being done to them and to the person that is doing it to them. Slowly they will begin to demonsrate the slow growing hate within them. Resentment will also happen and a difference in the child will be noticible quickly. The child will try to distance themselves from the parent that hits them.
Along with all of these bad consequences come medical problems. Soon bruises and scars will appear all over the child This indicates that the parent is now not just "punushing or diciplining
" their child but full out beat their child. This indicats that the parent or guardin has just gotten out of hand and went way too far. Each year many abused children have to go to the hospital because of injuries inflicted on them during punishment. Some of the children don't make it out beacause many of their extreme injuries are fatal.
All in all, the person many innocent kids used to look up to as a role model will look nothing but an abusive person to them. Hitting kids will bring life long consequences and life changing situations into the family. The effects of such as the medical, psychological, agessive and hatred problems can follow them the rest of their life and might just play a role in the course of life they will take which is either their parents way or their own.

Narrative:Little Brother

Something so sweet happened to me while sitting on my house porch, on a late night. I had just finished getting into an argument with my parents. It wasn't too severe but like always I tend to get mad really easily. By the time our quarrel was over I could feel the sides of my head throbbing. My face had turned to a dark rosy pink from having to listen to them take my younger sister's side, when clearly she was wrong. As I walked away from the living roomand outside all I could hear was the throbbing of my head and the door slamming after me. I sat on the porch swing by myself bawling my eyes out. My eyes were a dark red from all my crying. I can remember that the weather outside felt perfect. It was windy but kinda warm, which helped sooth me. Then I heard foot steps coming out and the sound of a door closing. The foot steps sounded like little thumps so I assumed it was one of my siblings. When I looked up it was my little brother (Saul). He had an expression of a million words. In his small hands were a box of tissues and a cup of milk. Then he said , " You want to talk about it?" This was coming from a little boy in first grade, I was surprised and then started to laugh and hug him. It felt good to know that someone cared about me and was worried about me. It was the sweetest action anyone could ever do, even if it comes from such a small person. I just sat with my little brother that night on the porch telling hims stories until it was time for him to go to bed. In the end I felt way better and appreciated what he did for me.

In Class Writing: Experiance

When I was young at the age of 3, I did something no one could ever believe right on my front porch steps. It was my birthday that day and my mom had just finished curling my hair for my big party. I was wearing a ocean blue dress with lace arounf t and i had a small blue bow in my hair. It was nice and windy outside and the wind was making the wind chims play terse little tunes. It was still partly sunny outside so the weather couldn't be anymore perfect. Before I walked outside my mom handed me a cold bottle of fruity, pink lotion and asked me to put some on while she finshed up with my other sister. I guess she thought it was an easy task that I would be able to accomplish on my own. Well she guessed wrong. After she handed me the lotion I pondered about where to sit to complete this esay task. Well the porch step seemed good since there were sun rays shining on it keeping it warm. Once I sat down I could hear the chims and the birds in the tree chirpping with the movement of the wind. I just sat there admiring the party scene set up before me. The table cover were a light pink and green. The ballons were floating silently against the wind and my pinata looked like a pot full of hopes for candy hanging on the hook in the ceiling. Hanging from it were colorful strips of tissue  paper even cut with zig zagged scissors. It was just amazing. Then I focused on the bottle in my hands and remember what i was supposed to do. Well I lightly removed the cap and pour a reasonable amount of the smushy, pink substance on my  miniature hand and began to spread it around. Soon I was almost done but, something came over me and next thing I knew I was covered in lotion. My face, cheeks, legs, arms and any part of my body that exposed skin was covered in lotion. It felt cold and smooth against my skin. I still don't know why but, I guess little kids just do random things when they are left with a bottle of lotion. My mom eventually came looking for me and found a pink snowman sitting on the porch. She was kinda angry but, was laso laughing. I wasn't sad that I got in trouble, on the contrary I felt like I smelled good and fresh.

Angelic Apperance

My sister has an angelic apperance. She is like no other girl and a sight of her will leave anyone speechless. Her hair is just amazing and is so full of life. It's long, lush and flowy. Also it's a light delicate brown. It fits her face so well and is wavy. Additionally it's very soft and smooth. Her face on the other hand her face is as smooth as a babys bottom. It has no imperfections. She has big, brown, puppy eyes. They are always sparkling with life and you can just get lost in them. They are a deep, dark chocolate color.

Description- Fear Farm

Fear Farm is a great place to visit. If you want to have a good scare. Once you arrive you can smell the smoke coming from everywhere. Its thick and heavy kind of like fog and it fills your lungs up. While walking towards the four haunted houses you can feel the smushy mud sink under your feet and then begin to hear the gravel crackle underneath you. Soon thats not the only thing you you hear. From everywhere you hear a mixture of laughter and screams and different conversations off in the distance. Once you are in line for your tickets you can see a great varity of people dressed up in funny, wacky and scary costumes. To your left and right you hear the conversations of the people around you. You can also distinct some anxious voices and some scared nervous ones. As you walk towards the haunted houses you hear the sounds that would only be in a horror movie. For example howls, demonic laughter  and chain saws. You feel the air around you getting lighter and colder. But once you go in be prepared to scream your lungs off and to run away from what ever is lurking in those creepy dark corners just waiting for you. All you can feel is the rigid walls of the house as you walk in or the air whipping through your fingers as you try to run away. Behind, you can only glance and see what monster is chasing you now. Which is usually the clowns, Tremmors and Flinch. With their long, poofy green and purple, messy hair. With their deep, blue eyes and red, creepy, extended smile that send shivers down your bare spine. The bone trembling yelp they call a laugh will send you running in no time. But once you finally make it out a crowd of people is usually watching. You feel a sense of relief and adrenaline pumping through you. Fear Farm is definatly the best place to visit with you friends or by yourself if you dare. But, it's more fun with a group and is something you only get to experiance once a year. So, don't miss out on all the fun.

First Date

Every person has thereown version of what a perfect first date would be like. Some imagine it like a fairy tale and other just think it will be a huge disaster. Well to commence an awsome date would have to consist of a couple of things. Your  date would have to make the night fun and unforgetable. For example he would be a gentleman at all times and would choose a place that both of you would enjoy to spend the night at. Not some crazy place filled with little kids and so on. Amother sign that it is an awsome date is if you start to realize that your date doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. You feel totally comfortable around him is a great thing. In other words your not embarassed of eating in front of him or do other stuff. The most important thing is that your date makes you laugh all night. It's  nice when they have a sense of humor and are not always serious. On the contrary an "okay" date would also consist of practically a perfect date but at a lower level. Like before he tries to make you laugh but isn't as successful beacause he might be shy or nervous. It's better when guys feel confident of themselves instead of being all nervous and jittery even though some hirls think that may be cute. Again they try to make conversation but are just not getting the hang of it wich always makes it feel weird and akward. But, on the other hand he is thoughtful and really kind. Sadly, a horrrible date would go like this. Either your date has never gone out or doesn't know how to behave around others. For example they have no manners at the table or just in general. Also if they are embarassing or they make you uncomfortable. An example is if they talk to loud and if everyone starts to stare your way. What makes a date the worst if they try to make move on you on your very first dat. In other words if they try to kiss you when you never even  thought about that or if he wants to hold hands without really knowing them. Although everyone has different first dates, some have great ones and others not so much. But, this only describes lightly on the surface what these three dates would be like.

In Class Writing:Classification and Division

In my fifth hour english class kids attitudes vary immensly. Although no one really gets along wth our teacher, Mrs.Jones, students in our class come to clas everyday with different attitudes. Not all of their attitudes are the same.  For instance, some kids attitudes are very proactive, and thrive very well in that enviornment. These kids are always on time to class and prepared. They come to class determined to get their work done and to not be a problem. The students that are proactive don't need to be constantly called on to answer a question, they volunteer themselves. There is no need to worry about students like these. Moreover, some have okay attitudes and participate but not as well as they could. They will pretty much just do their work but, also stir up problems in class. they don't really seem to be a problem at all. Sometimes they do slack but for the most part they just stand neutral. Unfortunatly for the class, their are some stufents who are just plain obnoxious and come to class with horrible attitudes. There mind set is not positive at all but completely negative. On top of that they are always late and just slack and don't do any work at all. These peole just wait for any opportunity to argue with the teacher or to interupt the lesson being taught. They will just sit in class and do no work, and distract others around them. Also, they seem to always find a way to pick a fight with the teacher even of it's for the littlest thing. In the end classrooms are suppossed to be made up of all these various attitudes in order to work well. My fifth hour teacher knows this for sure. Our class is just a mix of attitudes that actually represent how the student really is depending under which category they fall under.

Quiz October 22, 2011

There are many types of music out there. One type of music is country and it's more country and usually soft and not as loud and is harder to dance then others. Only beacause they aren't lways fast songs and are usually romatic. Another type of music is rock which is pretty loud and many think is obnoxious. It;s usually just instruments playing and the singer isn't always singing but actuallyy screaming.

Definition

For many a nerd can represented in a varity of ways. For example there is the school nerd and the geeky nerd and just a plain nerd. You may think they are all similar and might even be the same thing. In reality they all differ from each other. A school nerd is a studennt that is overly obssessed with school. It's common for students to worry about school work but not at such an extreme level. School nerds tend to always want to be paramount amoung all the other students. They are so consumed in getting the best grades ever that they rarely have any friends or are oblivious to everything around them. Morover a geeky nerd is mostly just a nerd that is a tech freak. Everything that has to do with technology facinates them. They seem to always be spending their time inventing new stuff or playing lame video games. They also don't have many friends outside of their miniature nerd group. Subsequently, a plain old nerd is not anything like a geeky and school nerd. This person just doesn't "fit in with the crowd." People don't really accept them as a they are. They are just people who wander alone all the time and don't seem to fit in any where they lack social interaction with everyone. They are also pick on and bullied occasionally. These type of people are the guinea pig of everyone. They are not at all intrested in doing good and school and definatly do n't like technology. in other words they are the social outcast. Although these three types of nerds have the word nerd in front of their classification they are all different from each other and are nerds in their own way.

Letter

October 1,2011
Dear Parents,

I would love to thank you for all of  the incredible things you do for me and my siblings. You have done so much but I am especially forever grateful for the way you support me, also how hard you try to give me everything you weren't as fortunate to have, and for always looking out and taking care of me. There is not enough words in this entire world that could possibly describe how much you do. In truth you have always been at my side supporting me when I need you the most. That means a lot to me. Whenever I participate in athletic sports in school, your always there cheering me on. During a race I always know that if I look to the stands you two are always going to be there cheering me on with a big smile on your faces. Even during hard times I Know that you will always be there to give me the best advice possible and set me on the right path. You guide me through whenever I need to make a decisions. Adjacently, when it comes to my goals and dreams you are the first to give me a little nudge and encourage me to reach them and surpass the obstacles in between. Your encouragement gives me the hope I need to help me in the long stride there. It also helps me to remember that nothing is impossible in this world when you have special people by your side. Just I have you two. I am very fortunate to have such great, two human beings at my side. Subsequently, I appreciate everything that you've done to get where I am today. I promise all of your effort will pay off, and will not go to waste. In particular you are always willing to pay for any of the school activities I participate in at school. If it's for school or my education, you never hesitate to pay for it. Even if we are going through tough times. In addition you never fail to spoil me even if I don't deserve it. I know sometimes I really don't deserve half of the things I get from you, but I am still thankful that you because it show that you love me. In retrospect as you were children you never had all of the essential stuff in your day to day life. I value your effort in trying to grant us everything you didn't have. Your are always looking for what's paramount for us. Concurrently, I am grateful for taking care of me at all times. You are strict in the areas where you should be but you still give me the sufficient freedom I need. You always have my best interest in mind. As I said before thank you for looking over my shoulder and looking out for me. It means a lot to me that as a child you took on the responsibility to take care of me. When I was younger you were the solution to my every problem and you made things better. When I'm sick you two are the first I come to. You help me back to health and attend to my every need. Your are my own personal little angels that have looked over me since the day I first took in that first breath. Therefore, I can't possible give you enough thank you's that will represent how I feel toward you. I just know that I love you and owe my life to you. Thanks for everything you've ever done for me.

                                                                                         With Love from your Daughter,

How to set a Noisy Person Straight

Nothing in the world can be more annoying then a noisy person! These people just love to get into everybody elses business but, never mind their own business. Usually after they find out whats going on in your life they go around and tell everyone stuff they don't really need to know about you. Well the only way to get rid of pesky, little people like this is to set them straight! To begin if you start to notice everyone around you seems to know a lot about you lately, the first thing to do is to find the source. Trust me you will find them. Next, don't confront them because violence and yelling will not solve anything. If you happen to be friends with this person then just try to distance yourself from them. Also try to not confide in them as much as before. It's better to just keep a distant relationship with that person. Sunsequently if they just don't stop and proceed with the same tactics then you should have a calm nice talk with them and try to come to an agreement where neither one of you are left in a akward position. In the end noisy people might not get the point of what you are trying to do. Many are just always oblivious to how they might be annoying or disturbing people with their nosiness. But hopefully you are able to get your point across and make them realize that what they are doing is bugging you.

Flirtation

When a boy catches your eye, flirting is the process you need to go through in order to get some where with that guy or if you just want to see him fall for you and then ditch him. Plus it's really fun to do and to see how they react. But if flirting is what you want to do make sure you do it the right way and not scare him off!The first thing is to start off with a conversation try to keep it intresting and not boring. During the conversation don't stare straight at him or else that will creep him out and make sure to smile but not too big. Next you should try and be around him but don't stalk him and don't have your friends follow him either. Thats a big no no. Next, try to hang out, out of school with a bunch of friends that way when your alone you'll have more time to yourselves. Ultimatly don't be too clingy and hopefully these steps will help to get him intrested!

Exemplification Paragraph

My sister Ashley is a very unique person. To begin with she is very picky and specific with the type of people she hangs out with. She only talks and mingles with certain people at her school. She is always picking out who she can and can't spend time with. It always seems to be the same people. It's not because she is racist or judgemental, but she has always been like this ever since she was young. The reason behind this behavior is because she is shy and sometimes has a hard time making friends. That's why she picks out the people she believes are easier to talk to. However, once you get to know her and interact with her, you'll be able to notice she has a great personality. Most of the time she has a positive attitude towards everything. She always looks at the bright side or advantages of everything. One thing for sure is nothing bad about anyone ever comes out of her mouth. Ashley doesn't like to stir up unneccessary situations. But, like everyone she has her ups and downs. Moreover Ashley is also a very intelligent person. Through out her whole life she has maintained a 4.0 grade point average. She is really good at grasping new material quickly and processing it. When it comes to homework and school work she never procrastinates. Similarly you'll never see her slacking on anything that is school related. She is always on top of her game. All of these special traits help build up to how unique she is.

Health Concious Nation

America is not a health concious nation. Obviously many people in the United States suffer from obesity and diabetes and all sorts of other medical conditions. All because they decide to not make healthy choices. But on the other hand every where you look there seems to be a McDonalds or other fast food restaurant on every corner. But the fast food is not all to blame. It's up to people to make healthy choices when it comes to their health. If people don't take care of themselves no else will. It's a persons choice when they decide to "supersize" an order that was already huge to begin with. Later they try to blame it all on the junk, fast food restaurants sell. But the truth is that they are the ones who expose themselves to those medical conditions. Either by stuffing themselves or by lack of physical excercise. Society just needs to face reality. Reality is that they don't make healthy choices and together as a nation we all contribute to not being a health concious nation.

Study Tips: Sep.10,2011

Studying is a process that that needs to be followed continuously. So if I were to show a college student how to study for an exam I would first recommend that they study study certain small portions of the material everyday. That way they won't have to cram it all in in one sitting. This for sure would not help at all. Also I would help them decipher what type of a learner they are. For exmple a visual or mental and sometimes audiable learner. Not everyone learns the same and it's good to know what strategy works best for them. Then I would ask them in what type of enviornment do they thrive in when studying. As in do they learn better in a quiet, and calm place or do they perfer a loud and full of life enviornment. Everyone adapts to what accomidates them best. Lastly I would recommend they take breaks in between, that way it refreshes and opens up their mind before they get back to work.

Changes:
  • I added more transitions so the sentences would flow more easily.
  • I also added more detailed sentences because they weren't specific enough.
  • I tried to give more examples to some of the explanations given.
